Rejoice

Rejoice

In some of his letters, Paul writes to churches in response to a crisis of some kind, i.e. Galatians and Colossians. Paul did not write to Philippians in response to crisis, rather to express his joy, appreciation, and affection for them. Several times, in his joy, Paul exhorts the church in Philippi to “rejoice”. But the unique thing to grab onto is that he isn’t merely telling them to rejoice, but he’s sharing how he himself is rejoicing. We get a window into Paul’s heart and why he is filled with joy, and through the gospel, we can learn to rejoice in our own lives.
