Don't Cancel

Topic: Prayer, Humility, Heart of God, Grace, Mercy Passage: Genesis 18:16–33
We're living in what is now called a "Cancel Culture". Those who break the law should come under appropriate judicial justice. But our society has managed to add a whole other layer of something that we think is justice, but isn’t. In our culture, we're increasingly urging people to shun, avoid and ignore insensitive, oppressive, morally questionable people, and pretend they don’t exist. If somebody does wrong? Cancel their show, pull their book off the shelf, take their music off the radio, shame them on social media, put a scarlet letter on them, take away their humanity, cancel their livelihood, and socially excommunicate them. If you don’t join in on the “cancelling” or don’t show indifference to the guilty party, you’re shunned too. This isn’t justice, it’s lust for revenge and it's moral superiority. It doesn’t lead to healthy reconciliation, and it is increasingly dividing us. Listen to the next message from the life of Abraham in Genesis 18:16-33 and discover the radical heart of God and the heart He desires for us, and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ gets us there!
